We were able to determine the patriarch of the Preston-Waterloo Kleinsteuber family, Carl Kleinsteuber, was actually Carl Friedrich Bernhard Kleinsteuber, born in 1826 (not 1831 as had always been believed by the family).
His grandfather was Johann Christoph Kleinsteuber, believed to have been born about 1756 in Schwarzhausen, a tiny village in the hills at the edge of the Thuringia Forest.
This is significant because Schwarzhausen is also believed to be the origin of the Kentucky Kleinsteubers and the Actinolite Kleinsteubers as well.
The images below show the Geni Profile for Carl Kleinsteuber, his baptism/christening translated record, and a current photo of the small village of Schwarzhausen.
