Most of my great grandfather Henry Richard Millard's family has been well documented, with the exception of my second great aunt Elizabeth and my second great uncle William.
I may have found William today (not proven, but quite a bit of circumstantial evidence); a William Millard married Lucy Smith in 1860 in a close by district of London and they are shown in this 1861 Census record. Their daughter Lucy Elizabeth was born in 1862, but it appears William was convicted of Larceny in December 1861, Lucy and her daughter are living alone in the 1871 Census, a William Millard died nearby in 1879, and in the 1881 Census Lucy is shown as a widow.
So, William may have been the black sheep of that family.... or the one who got caught!
