Percy McGrath Millard born 1848, whose father William Henry Millard was born in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire (where there is some probability my 5th great grandfather John Millard was also born), immigrated to Canada in 1857 and settled in Belleville, Ontario. A number of his descendants (likely) still live in the area today, with surnames of Cockburn, Darlan, and Millard.
Coincidentally, my grandfather John Josiah Millard settled in Belleville, Ontario about 1922. My father and his 4 brothers (including my uncle Percy) all grew up in Belleville, and I was raised in the neighboring county of Prince Edward. There is no indication there was ever any realization of a possible connection.
